Next year, we will be carrying out a Social Action Survey across the Archdiocese. The short questionnaire will be shared alongside the Safeguarding audit sent to every parish, giving us a clearer picture of the work already happening, and where extra support might be needed.
The Survey will help identify the scope of social action taking place throughout our parishes, from food projects and outreach initiatives to environmental and justice-focused work. It will also highlight areas people would like to develop, guiding how we can best allocate resources, offer training and share practical support.
Before it goes diocesan-wide, we’ll be piloting the survey within the Older People Forum Deanery in Lewisham over the coming weeks. Insights from this pilot will help refine the questions and ensure the tool truly reflects parish realities on the ground.
This initiative forms part of our wider commitment to strengthening parish social action and building connections across the Archdiocese — helping every community put faith into action in new and meaningful ways.
