Yogi Sutton honoured for her Racial & Cultural Inclusion work

We warmly congratulate Yogi Sutton, a long‑time advocate for racial justice in our Archdiocese, who has been honoured by Pope Leo XIV as a Dame of the Pontifical Order of St Gregory the Great, one of the highest papal awards for lay people.

Yogi’s decades of work in promoting inclusion, including her role in founding the Catholic Association for Racial Justice (CARJ), are a testament to our mission: faith in action.

The award was celebrated at her parish, Corpus Christi, Brixton Hill, and reflects the importance of standing fostering a Church that truly welcomes all cultures and backgrounds. We hope her example inspires parishes across the Archdiocese to continue promoting racial and cultural inclusion in their communities.
