After serving as Head of Caritas since September 2023, John Coleby will be stepping down this Autumn. John joined us after serving as the first Director of Caritas Westminster, and his work in setting up our mission here in Southwark has set us on a clear path. We’re deeply grateful for John’s dedication and leadership, and we wish him the very best for the future.
Following on, Mark Choonara will be joining us as the new full-time Director of Caritas in January 2026. Mark currently serves as CEO of the Daughters of Charity Services and brings with him lots of experience in Catholic social outreach and leadership across England and Wales. We’re looking forward to welcoming him in the New Year and we’re excited to see how he’ll strengthen our shared work across Caritas, Justice and Peace, and Racial and Cultural Inclusion.
